Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota Kirloskar Motor today showcased the all new Toyota Corolla Altis sedan, a day before the biennial 12th Auto Expo 2014 opens here in India.

The 11th-generation Corolla Altis has been designed to keep up with the times and add value, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Managing Director Naomi Ishii said at the 12th Auto Expo here. 

The company opened bookings for the new model today. The price will be revealed in May, when sales are launched and deliveries start, he said. The price of the current model starts at about Rs 11 lakh. 

The sedan, which is Toyota's No 1-selling car globally, is available in diesel and petrol variants. 

The new model has advanced exteriors and interiors, new alloy wheels, push start/stop button and rear reclining seats with more leg space, he said.

This year’s Auto Expo 2014 is hosting 55 exhibitors and as many as 70 new vehicles will be unveiled, including 26 global unveilings of which 15 will be cars.

The expo comprises two separate events – an auto show that will be open to the public Feb 7-11 at Greater Noida and a components show Feb 6-9 at Pragati Maidan. (PTI)
